Supreme Court Conducts Trial Run of Live Streaming Proceedings

On Friday, the Supreme Court conducted a trial run, streaming live proceedings from all its benches. This initiative is part of the court's ongoing effort to enhance transparency in judicial processes.

The apex court has previously utilized YouTube to broadcast hearings, particularly for cases before Constitution benches and matters of significant public interest, such as the recent high-profile case involving the rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata.

In a unanimous resolution reached during a full-court meeting chaired by former Chief Justice U.U. Lalit, the court committed to live-streaming all hearings conducted by Constitution benches. This decision follows a landmark ruling from 2018 that paved the way for increased public access to judicial proceedings.
